The Daniel Foundation
Who are we?
We are a registered 501(c)3 non profit Christian mission of spiritual and civic renewal.
What we do?
We do relationships, visting with men (Catholic, Protestant, Skeptic, Agnostic, etc) from every location on the religious, vocational and economic spectrum. We typically visit with men individually over a meal or in small group settings for the sake of encouragement. We offer spiritual direction to those who request it. To those who don't, we simply offer faithful friendships.
We find that many men have questions that need to be addressed and, hopefully, answered. Still others don't so much have questions but simply desire something more than what might be best described as a 'third person' relationship with Jesus Christ. They wish to know how to cultivate such a 'first person' relationship with the God who made, and loves, them. Our staff and volunteers assist those men in the process of moving from knowing 'about Christ' to 'knowing Christ' personally.
Yeah, but aren't you really selling something?
Nope. We've no interested in selling or pushing anything, religious or otherwise. We provide spiritual formation for those who request it, nothing more, nothing less. To those men who don't, we simply offer our friendship, encouraging them to live lives of greater nobility and integrity as a man, husband, father and citizen.
Why Daniel?
Our name derives from the Old Testament's book of Daniel in which God's people, while in exile, remained faithful; befriending and blessing both friend and foe.
St Augustine said it well....
'Lord, you have made us for Yourself and our hearts will always be restless until they find their rest in you.'
Greg and Jane Porter
